How To The iPhone X can be Used Better

The iPhone X does not have a Home button! Here we show you how to unlock the device, turn on Siri, use Apple Pay, take screenshots and use all the other features of the Home button on iPhone X.

The iPhone X is here, check out our list of the best deals on iPhone X and is different from any Apple phone you released earlier. On the one hand, it has the biggest screen ever seen on an iPhone, and has a Home button (or, indeed, any physical button at all) on the front of the device.

So how do you unlock the device, go to the Home screen, activate Siri, turn on the application switcher, and do all of the other features accessible via a Start button? With gestures or alternate buttons, or with your face! In this tutorial we explain how to use the iPhone X.

How to Unlock Your iPhone X

iPhone X has no Touch ID, because the fingerprint scanner used to sit on the Home button (RIP) and Apple decided not to go to the back of the device or embed on the screen. Instead of Touch ID, we get Face ID.

To unlock your iPhone X, just lift your device and see things: by default it should establish visual contact, a deliberate feature designed to prevent people who can unlock the phone when you are asleep or unconscious. It should be unlocked near the time.

Note that this does not automatically bring you to the Home screen, but simply unlock the device, which will be visible by editing the lock icon at the top of the screen. Then, you need to scroll up from the bottom or activate one of the other functions available from the lock screen (such as the camera).

How To Use Apple Pay With The iPhone X

The loss of the Touch ID fingerprint scanner also affects Apple Pay. This is also verified by facial recognition.

You have to double-tap the side button (formerly known as the power button), look your iPhone to verify identity, then hold the phone near the contactless terminal to complete the transaction.

If you use Apple Pay online or in an application, things are slightly different: double press and authenticate, and the transaction must be completed in 30 seconds. Otherwise, you have to double press and repeat the authentication.

How To Return To The Home Screen

The original and most obvious goal of the Home button is to return to the home screen from anywhere. This is now done with a gesture: scroll up from the bottom of the screen, as I did to open the Control Center. There is a small bar at the bottom of the screen, except when it fades during video playback and the like, to remind you of this.

How To Access Control Center

Talking of Control Center, it is now activated by swiping from the top right corner of the screen.

You may not like the notch at the top of the screen, but it has the advantage when it comes to the interface to actually transform the upper edge into two distinct gesture-sensitive sections. And the upper left edge is used for something else.

How To Access The Notification Center

Move down from the upper left edge to open the Notification Center.

How To Switch From One Application To Another

As usual, you can go back to the Home screen, look for the application icon and tap to open it, but you’d like to know the equivalent of the old one by double-Press the Home button that was used to let the application appear. .

Move the screen from the bottom of the screen (on the small bar) just like you do to go back to the Home screen, but this time hold your finger or fingertip on the screen for a moment or two until the application selector . Now you can scroll left or right to scroll through open applications, and then tap it to open it.

If you do not want to bother the application selector and want to go back to the previous application, you can slide your finger on the bar at the bottom of the screen. Some early users have found it easier to make a small semicircle gesture up, across or down, but try to find the best and the most effective for you.

How To Take Screenshots

You can not capture a screenshot on the iPhone X by simultaneously pressing the Home and Power buttons, as you do not have a Home button. Instead, simultaneously press the volume-up button and the power / side button.

The screen will blink White and, thanks to the new iOS 11 capture feature, you will see a small thumbnail of the screenshot at the bottom left. You can tap this to add annotations or share it, scroll left to disappear or just wait for it to disappear.

How To Activate Siri

Hold down the power button to turn on Siri, or say “Hi Siri!”, As before, and assuming you enable this feature.

How To Activate Reachability

When Apple first debuted with their big iPhone screen, it worried that people could not reach all the touch screen with their thumbs while holding the device, which introduced a new Reachablitly feature, such as a small screen image to complete when you press the Home button two times (not pressed). There is no Home button but the screen is bigger than ever, so how does it work?

It is now turned on by scrolling down at the bottom of the screen. If you are concerned that this is triggered accidentally while using applications, you can turn it off (or turn it on) in Settings, under Accessibility.

How to Set up a VPN on Phone android and iPhone

Setting up a VPN on Phone is a quick and easy process, as iOS and Android have built-in VPN capabilities that can be used. However, almost all VPN providers also have applications that can be downloaded and used to configure and configure their VPNs.

VPN stands for Virtual Private Network and is used for several reasons, including keeping your private Internet browsing (VPN on Phone )or access to blocked services by region. VPNs also help hide the most dangerous parts of the Internet.

They work effectively by hiding your presence on the Internet, so what you do on the Internet can not be filtered if governments, hackers, or advertisers who are looking to find what you’re interested to do to target your ads will surprise you how many organizations would be interested in your Internet habits, regardless of whether you are doing something wrong or not.

By encrypting all this data on your smartphone with a VPN, VPN on Phone,  both on your iPhone and an Android device, you can be sure that the navigation and the applications you use are only for your view and not for a third.

If you need to manually add your VPN (VPN on Phone), do the following:

Setting Up a VPN on Phone

vpn on phone

In the configuration option, click General and scroll down. There, you will find an option to configure a VPN.

Here, you need to enter the server connection details, choose the encryption method used by the VPN and enter the login data for the subscribed service.

It is so Now, when you connect to the Internet, you will see a small VPN logo in the top status bar, which indicates that you are now accessing the outside world through the VPN you choose.

Setting Up a VPN on Android

vpn on phone

The process is very similar if you are on an Android device. Once again, most providers will have an application that can be downloaded and configured for you, but if it is not, that’s the way it is.

Open the Configuration application.

In the “Wireless & networks” section, select “more”.

Select “VPN”.

In the upper right corner you will find a + sign, tap it.

The VPN provider you choose will provide you with all VPN information. Simply select the desired protocol and enter all the information.

Press “Save”.

You can connect back to the VPN configuration and select the VPN of your choice. You will be asked to enter your username and password. Or you can also press the 3-point menu button to configure the VPN so it is always active.

Further things to consider

Depending on your chosen VPN provider, and if you opted for a free option, there may be some restrictions for browsing. Most of the free bids are limited in one way or another. This is usually a data limit (eg 10 MMB / month) or can limit execution speed. You can also be limited to which servers you can connect with a free offer.

In practice, we find the configuration and operation of a very fast process, which takes less than 5 minutes and something that everyone should consider to safeguard their presence on the Internet. A small drawback is that you can see a slight reduction in the battery life of your phone if you keep your VPN all the time. This is because it runs full time in the background so that you can consider deactivating the VPN when you do not access the Internet with the device.

A clean palette can do wonders in life, especially when it comes to the many gadgets and gadgets we use every day as the iPhone. Although running a smartphone factory resurfacing may not seem ideal – essentially cleaning the device of all and all personal settings and data acquired over the years – it is occasionally necessary when resolving the software device resolution. As shown in our Troubleshooting Guide, many steps can be taken to resolve iPhone issues, even if the factory reset does not resolve the issue.

The exact process to do this may vary slightly depending on the iOS version that is running on your iPhone, but it is essentially the same regardless of whether you are performing a factory reset with iTunes or your automated phone. iPhone hello

When you restart your phone, iOS gives you a number of different options and may be confused knowing which one to choose. Normally, you want to run the factory reset mentioned above, but here’s an explanation of what other options make so you can choose the best reset for your needs.

Note: If you sell the phone or delivery to another person, the one that erases everything and returns to the original state is Delete all content and settings.

Erase iPhone

Resets all settings

If you choose this option, you will not lose all your data, but you will lose your Wi-Fi settings and password. The manual settings disappear, of course, but you still have your photos, apps, and other content.

Deletes all content and settings

This is the option described at the beginning of this post, which eliminates everything from your device. Settings, images, apps, and other data will be turned off forever unless you have copied content.

Restart the network settings

Sometimes you need to update your network settings to set up a better connection. Choosing this option resets network settings, deletes cache, and deletes temporary files stored on your device. It is ideal for those who have problems with different Wi-Fi connections.

Reset the keyboard dictionary

Sometimes self-correction can do more harm than good. If you feel like your iPhone is always suggesting typos and wrong words based on your previous messages, you can always reset the keyboard dictionary.

Resets the main screen layout

Even though most people like to set up their smartphone’s home screen with their favorite apps, sometimes it’s okay to change things a bit. If you want to return to the original design of the home screen provided with your phone, you can choose this restore option.

Restore location and privacy

Sometimes, when you start playing in environments, you can ruin things. If you want to go back to the original phone settings and position, this is the reset for you. All other information will remain intact.

Update: We’ve added some additional links to help you find other troubleshooting guides.
